Bulacan

Bulacan, officially called the Province of Bulacan or simply Bulacan Province, is a first class province. It is located in the Central Luzon Region (Region 3), immediately north of Metro Manila and part of the Metro Luzon Urban Beltway Super Regions.

It has 569 barangays from 21 municipalities and 3 component cities: Malolos, the capital city, Meycauayan, and San Jose del Monte. Bordering Bulacan are the provinces of Pampanga to the west, Nueva Ecija to the north, Aurora and Quezon to the east and Metro Manila and Rizal to the south. Bulacan also lies on the northeastern shore of Manila Bay.

CALABARZON

CALABARZON or Region IV-A has Calamba City in Laguna as its regional capital. The region is composed of five provinces: Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon. The region’s name is a portmanteau of the names of these provinces.

The region is located in southwestern Luzon, just south and west of Metro Manila and is the second most densely populated region in the Philippines.

Cebu Province

Cebu Province consists of Cebu island, and 167 surrounding islands. It is located to the east of Negros, to the west of Leyte, and Bohol islands. Cebu Island is long and narrow and stretches 225 kilometers from north to south. The surrounding 167 smaller islands include Mactan, Bantayan, Malapascua, Olango, and the Camotes Islands.

Its capital is Cebu City, the oldest city in the Philippines, which is part the Cebu Metropolitan Area together with four neighboring cities: Danao, Lapu-Lapu, Mandaue, and Talisay, and eight other municipalities.

Ilocos and Pangasinan

Ilocos collectively refers to two provinces: Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur. Inhabitants are called Ilocanos and they speak the language Iloko, also called Ilocano.

The term Ilocos Region is derived from this term. However, the designation of Ilocos as the basis of the name of the region promotes the wrong notion that all the residents of Region 1 are Ilocanos. Because 28% of the inhabitants are Pangasinan people, who belong to a different ethno-linguistic group from the Ilocanos.

Metro Davao

Metro Davao is an agglomeration of Davao City and four surrounding cities: Digos City in Davao del Sur and Tagum City, Panabo City and the Island Garden City of Samal in Davao del Norte. With a land area of only 619.5 square kilometers and a population of 11,553,427 (latest figure from NSO, look under Demography), it is the most congested region in the country at 18,650 persons per square kilometer. Compare that with the national average of 260 persons per square kilometer.

It is composed of the following districts:
1 – Manila – the capital; considered the most congested city in the world
2 – Quezon City
3 – Mandaluyong, Pasig, San Juan, Marikina
4 – CAMANAVA (Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, Valenzuela)
5 – Makati, Taguig, Pateros

It is bordered by the provinces of Bataan and Zambales to the west, Tarlac and Nueva Ecija to the north, and Bulacan to the southeast. Pampanga also lies on the northern shore of Manila Bay. It enjoys the distinction of being known as the culinary heart of the Philippines.

The province is home to two air bases under the Philippine Air Force. They are the Basa Air Base in Floridablanca and the former U.S. Clark Air Base in Angeles City.
