Quirky questions about house and lot ownership, just for fun

Since this website became live in July, most of my posts have been heavily researched.

This time, allow me to unbutton my shirt so that I may ask questions that are either silly, corny or downright stupid : )

  • Will you build a house on a lot where the former structure burned down?
  • Will you buy a house where a former occupant or occupants died?
  • Will you buy a house in front of or beside a church?
  • Do you believe in ghosts?
  • Did you watch A Haunting on Discovery Channel? Will it affect your choice of a house?
  • Is Feng Shui only for the Filipino-Chinese homeowners?
  • Will you build a house on a lot near a gasoline station?
  • Will you buy a house near a hospital?
  • Being middle-class or below middle-class all your life, will you buy a house in Forbes Park if you win 300 million pesos in lotto?
  • In case you want legal separation or annulment from your spouse, what’s your opinion on the equal division of conjugal property if you’re the one who spent the entire amount building your dream house while your spouse did not spend a single centavo? Will you still pursue annulment?
  • Do you think living in a small cramped house can make a person a slob?
  • Do you think a person who has been a slob his entire life will become a neat-freak if he begins living in a big and beautiful house?
  • If forced to choose, which will you give up, your dream house, your Mercedes Benz or your slob of a spouse?
  • Is there such a thing as a “malas” (or unlucky) house?
  • Will you build a house on a lot that is “tumbok?” (directly facing and perpendicular to a road)
  • With no other option, and all other things being constant, if in your entire adult life you have owned a car, will you sell it to partly finance your dream house? Or will you defer owning a house to keep the car?
  • Will you let your in-laws live in your new dream house?
  • What’s your idea of a “green” house?
  • What’s your favorite color?
  • Quirky? Yup! But admit it, your answers to some questions probably say a lot about yourself. Especially if you answered the last question – “A green house is a house that is painted in green.” Aray!!

P.S. I will not ask if you’ll buy a house near a cemetery for obvious reasons. But did you know there’s a world-class condominium in Makati City, near the corners of Ayala Avenue and Gil Puyat where some residents, presumably out of sheer ignorance, bought units where everyday, whenever they look out their windows, they are greeted by the “magnificent” view of the vast expanse of the Makati Cemetery?

That’s millions of pesos worth of mistake; unless they have an unnatural penchant for the macabre.

    Thank you so much.
